Facebook becomes most visited website for week of March 13

The popularity of Facebook continues to rise and now it has even surpassed Google and become the most visited website in the US for the week of March 13, 2010. According to Experian Hitwise, to date, Facebook has only surpassed Google on a few holidays and the weekend of March 6-7, 2010. Recent data from the “U.S. Teen & Twenty-Somethings” study conducted by Tru also shows just how popular Facebook is among the millennial age group. According to the study, 51 percent of 18 and 19 year olds say that Facebook is their favorite website, and 46 percent of teens and twenty-somethings visit Facebook at least once a day compared to Google at 44 percent.
