A recent
posting on TechCrunch indicates that the Kindle 2 is likely selling at twice the rate of the first generation Kindle with about 300,000 units sold to date. The first generation Kindle sold about 400,000 units total and Amazon expects to sell about 800,000 Kindle 2’s in 2009. Some analysts predict that the sales could even reach over a million this year. As e-reader technology continues to improve and more books become available in digital form, we can expect that e-reader sales will continue to increase.
